Cute Story

At night, Jack and I say prayers together in his bed. He calls it saying "persons" because I end by saying "God bless Jack, Mommy, Daddy....so on and so on..." Well, one night I told Jack that we needed to send extra special prayers up for Grandma because she has a big boo boo (how do you explain cancer to a two year old?). A few days later, we were driving past Grandma's house and he remembered her boo boos. He said, "Grandma has boo boo. Jack wants boo boo, too. Get haircut. Feel better." My mom had just cut her hair into a really cute short pixie cut in anticipation for any chemo reaction and I guess Jack associated her hair cut as something to make her feel better. Oh, my sweet boy, if only it were that easy. We love you, Mom! We pray for your boo boos every night.

Myrtle Beach

Last week, Jack and I took a trip down to Myrtle Beach with my family. Terry wasn't able to go due to work obligations, so that was sad, but I did get to spend lots of time with my parents and sister, so that was a good thing. Jack doesn't really understand vacations; I think he doesn't realize that the vacation is supposed to be fun--although for a boy with as many toys as he has, he probably sees no reason to ever want to leave his room. The plus side for him was that he got to spend loads of time with Grandpa. If Grandpa was ever out of his sight, he would start worrying, "Where Grandpa go?" One morning he woke up and dashed out of our room to Grandpa's room, only to discover Grandpa wasn't in his room. He comes running out and shouts "AWWW, MAN! Grandpa's lost!" Adorable. Another night, Jack woke up in the middle of the night and walked out to the main living area where Gigi was sleeping on the sleeper sofa. She looked up at him and he exclaimed, "Scary!" Poor Gigi. Yet still adorable. Jack also declared one night that Gigi has a circus car. I guess she shouldn't have bought the bright yellow car--she just needs to get some clowns for it and she's set.
